Diamond Bridge

ParkipediaBanner.jpg

The "Diamond Bridge" series of bridges consists of two permanent bridges linked by a third narrow bridge running diagonally over Carpenters Lock. The bridges have an angled, mirrored undersurface whch reflects both the viewer and the canal, linking them together as one.

During the 2012 Games, the gaps between the three bridges were filled with what became known as "Spotty Bridge".

After the Games, with Spotty Bridge removed, the mirrored undersurface of the bridges became more visible and it remains one of the iconic structures on the Park today.

The space beneath the bridges has been utilised as a performance area, with seating formed of wooden steps and using the lock as a backdrop.
